eTV is the first and only privately owned free-to-air television station in South Africa. They have the following internships available.

Intern: Presentation Scheduling

The intern would be required to assist the Presentations scheduling team in creating accurate daily schedules for transmission across a multi-channel platform thus being responsible for the final schedule and the distribution of it to On Air users both internal and external.

The incumbent would be required to assist the finance department with ad hoc requests and queries on an administration level. Assist the department with regard to invoice retrieval, capture thereof, and petty cash queries as well as keep BEE documentation up to date.

The incumbent would be required to fit the role of Intern: Marketing Intelligence who is responsible for supporting the sales teams by arming them with media consumption information and facts and providing go-to-market presentations for them to go out and sell airtime. Intern: Media Library

Position 1 The incumbent would be required to gather, organize and store all content generated or acquired by the eMedia Group Position 2 The incumbent would be required to gather, organize, store and report on all content generated or acquired by the eMedia group. The Music Usage Coordinator is also required to gather, check and report on all music usage across all channels in the eMedia Group.

Intern: Quality Assurance Reviewing

The incumbent would be required to view material intended for broadcasting on any of eMedia network of channels and to do a complete quality assurance review of this material, ensuring that it meets the e.tv technical standards and comply with the specifications of the various channels. The incumbent would also be required to ensure material information is timeously loaded in the BMS.

Quality Assurance

Analyzing audio and video quality of programs in real-time.

Ensuring the technical quality of all media operations material in line with e.tv and other broadcasters broadcasting specifications.

Ensuring that all timings and other relevant info is correct and correctly loaded on BMS.

Ensuring that the programmers required for broadcast are ingested and a quality assurance review is performed on ingested material as per the given schedule.

Editing and dubbing material as and when required.

Ensuring the correct material is captured and conforms to broadcast standards, including aspect ratio.

Evaluating images and processes through a PSE (Photosensitive epilepsy) test if and when required.

Mastering finished products in time and archiving existing projects.

Flagging any classification queries to be reviewed.

Gathering all the relevant components (audio mixes, textless elements, etc.) on International Masters

Reviewing and responding to daily shift reports, when on standby.

Reviewing and responding to a daily missing media reports, when on standby.

Editing

Selecting shots that need to be taken out or faded after consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Formatting multiple file wrappers and codecs.

Logging and digitizing of media delivered on tape or any analog delivery format.

Printing to tape and doing insert editing on the material to be played out or delivered to analog formats or systems.

Editing the title as per distributor/broadcaster specifications (video type, audio configurations, etc.). Formatting according to the delivery format required (DVD master, broadcast file, or master file) for redistribution.

Responsible for creating viewing copies for potential clients to view and uploading to our digital online viewing platform (Egnyte)

Sending links and media digitally to clients.

Converting selected media according to clients’ specifications

 

Requirements

A minimum of a completed, National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Video Editing
